Digital Camera's and My love for Photography

I love photography and have for years. My dad got me started as we always had a camera around. The first one I remember is the 35mm camera my folks had, we always took a lot of pictures when we went camping. Every summer we went camping at Yosemite National Park in Northern California. It was awesome while we were there and then we would sit around and look at the pictures. Back then my parents had to have them put on slides, everything wasn't so fancy as it is now. Then my dad bought a polaroid camera. That was fun because we got to see the pictures after a few minutes and could watch the photo's being developed. That was cool, so by the time in was in high school, I got my first camera, and the rest is history.

I loved my 35mm camera, but they break down or maybe I just wear them out! Probably some of both, it went to camera heaven not long ago, cause I have tons of pictures to prove it. I started out taking pictures of nature, and that is really what I still love.

I finally got my first small digital camera to test them out, once I figured out that you also need to buy a memory card, (duh) and also the attachment to be able to download my photos, I got started with it. Well I have downloaded the photos on my computer, started a dogblog and a catblog with them for fun and can't get enough.

I have been looking at digital camera's that have the bigger optical zoom for taking long distance photos. As I live in the Pacfic NW, there are tons of wildlife here that you can't get close to such as the beautiful Bald Eagles. There is a pair that live within 1/2 a mile of where I live and I see them often and want to get some close ups of them. Last year when I was walking my dog along the river about this time of year, I saw an eagle in a tree eating salmon that it had just caught in the river. I did have my 35mm camera with me and was able to take some photo's but the lense wasn't strong enough to get very close. Anyway that is what led me on a research journey for a digital camera to use.

I have seen many, reviewed several and frankly I just can't decide, they all look good to me. So I guess that I will just keep researching to make sure it has all of the features that I am looking for.

This I do know, they are expensive, at least the one's that do what I want! I guess that I will be saving all my pennies and one day soon, go ahead and get the camera that I want.

Photography has been a wonderful part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I can't think of much I like more. It has been a wonderful hobby and I am so ready to take it to a new level with my new digital camera.

If anybody has any ideas of good places to do my research, please by all means send me a comment as I love to learn new things.

Camera lover for life
